Join Our Chorus!

Come make music on Thursday evenings with a joyful, hardworking chorus of 50 singers from all walks of life and levels of experience. Under the direction of noted music director and educator Dr. Susan Glass, The Glass Menagerie -- now in its 42nd year -- presents two concerts a year for a large, loyal, and appreciative audience in beautiful and welcoming Manhattan venues. Our adventurous and eclectic repertoire spans classical masterworks from every era, music rooted in folk and vernacular traditions, and the work of living composers.

Our December 13, 2026 concert, A Jubilant Song will feature Norman Dello Joio's 20th century masterwork of that name and Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols among other pieces both secular and sacred.

Rehearsals for our Winter 2026 season begin on September 10th, 2026 and take place every Thursday during the academic year from 6:30 to 9:00 PM at either LREI High School (40 Charlton St., New York, NY 10014) or LREI Lower/Middle School (272 Sixth Avenue at Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10014).

If you are interested in singing with us this winter, please join us for our first rehearsal September 10th, 2026. Susan Glass will audition you during the rehearsal break. Come see if this is the chorus for you! No audition preparation is necessary, but singers interested in joining us should have some prior choral experience and a basic ability to sight read music. The rehearsal beforehand will give you a good idea of our level and our way of learning.
